15-5801 Bill 30
Amending the Chapter 615, Vehicles and Code, of the City of Allentown Code by increasing the distance a car can be parked from a curb from 6 to 9 inches, allow council by resolution to provide an exemption to parking In front of a private driveway or alongside any street or highway excavation or obstruction, or opposite the same under certain conditions, allowing parking in alleys that are less than 20 feet wide provided there is a 12 foot passage and the car is not parked on the sidewalk, allowing impounded vehicles to be released if the owner is in compliance with a payment plan and re-moving all imprisonment penalties.
I support the APA in its efforts to enforce parking regulations in the City. I support removal of imprisonment penalties and increasing the distance a car can be parked from the curb to 9 inches, but oppose parking in alleys any time unless parked in a private driveway or parking pad. I support 24/7 hours of operation and enforcement and oppose any reduction of hours or coverage, as violations, such as parking in front of hydrants and too close to corners occur late at night and on weekends.
