15-4191 Bill 31 Public Hearing, this evening
Amending the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Allentown by repealing Section 1314.02.C.4 (7) of the Zoning Ordinance with respect to the prohibition of on-site frying of foods in the Traditional Neighborhood Development Overlay District (TNDO) in its entirety, providing for a repealer clause, a severability clause and an effective date.
I request that Council vote against the repeal as the change would negatively impact public safety and quality of life in residential neighborhoods. Individuals proposing commercial ventures including restaurants should investigate applicable regulations and obtain permits prior to undertaking ventures, rather than demand accommodations after the fact. There are commercially zoned areas of the City for such purposes. The ordinance as is, is working for the residents, so no change is needed.
