REPORTS FROM COMMITTEES: Committee of Whole Report: Council President Guridy We met last week and discussed looking at 911 alternatives to police - the meeting that was scheduled yesterday is being rescheduled. Parks and Recreation: Chair Hendricks, Gerlach, Siegel The committee has not met since the last council meeting; the next meeting is scheduled for February 3, tentatively at 5 PM. . Public Safety: Chair Mota, Hendricks, Zucal (Affa) The committee has not met since the last council meeting; the next meeting is not yet scheduled.. Public Works: Chair Zucal, Affa, Siegel The committee has not met since the last council meeting; the next meeting is scheduled for February 3, tentatively at 5:30 PM.. Rules, Chambers, Intergovernmental Relations and Strategy: Chair Guridy, Mota, Hendricks (Gerlach) The committee has not met since the last council meeting; the next meeting will be scheduled for January 27th at 6:30 PM. A proposal will be introduced this evening. A variety of other municipalities rules are also in the file. I have asked the Clerk to review them and summarize them in regard to issues like procedures for electing the president - to give us some insight into options out there. I am also having the office looking into creating a procedural manual for future councils - they did work on SOPs during the COVID crisis but that related to internal administrative operations, this would focus on council operations as they pertain to the city. Reading has a good example that is also in this file. In addition, we will be working on setting up a meeting with the county to review the issue that was discussed at the last meeting relating to COVID cases in the county prison. I would also like to set up meeting with the school board soon to explore issues we could mutually work on. Please let myself or the office know if you have any suggestions on this.
